Winter Solstice Pick a Card Messages

Collective Message. Card from Osho Zen Tarot.

A collective message for us all is to know that we each have a higher and inner guidance that is lighting our way. You do not have to look outside of yourself for guidance. There are whispers and nudges guiding you all of the time and you need only tune in and listen. Sometimes a little spark of light is all that is needed to light the way and get momentum going. It’s ok not to see every single step as long as you see the next step forward and allow yourself to follow it with trust. You don’t even need card readings or outside guidance, and at times you will be guided to such sources for inspiration, guidance, clarity, and validation. External sources can solidify and amplify what your inner light already knows to be true. If outside sources cause confusion or conflict, put them down and go within to connect with your highest source of wisdom and experience truth. It’s ok to not know and it’s ok to experiment as you learn.

Option 1: From fantasy to fulfillment and a blessing on your body.
You may have been shedding skins and old identities and working hard towards your personal growth, transformation, or a particular goal or outcome. This is an invitation to let go of attachment to how things should look and be and happen. Have you become attached to one route delivering you one expectation? Keep your prayers and intentions and the essence of your goals, but drop the struggle and forcing. Move into allowing. Can you consider that everything you have been through and the effort you have put towards your goals and desires is a valuable part of your overall process? Can you also consider that you are already perfect in the eyes of your soul and are already complete in all that you do, even as you grow and expand your desires and reach?

“Your soul has the ability to spark alchemical change.” -(From Alana Fairchild) Step back for a moment and reassess. Owl invites you to observe, receive information and know. Nothing gets past the keen eye and intuitive perception of owl, and you are being invited to notice and employ this ability within yourself. Whatever situation comes to mind, step back and observe with non-attachment and no judgment. From your place of observation, intuition and insight can flow. Alchemy is happening within you and your life. Pay no mind to the opinions of others and follow what is lighting you up. If you have been struggling with something related to your body, bless your body with love and trust that the divine is showing you a way to heath and healing.

Mantra: “I love my body. My body deserves all my love.” -(From The Mantra Oracle by Lili Barbery-Coulon).
Say this and think this many ways and many times throughout your day. Find things you can genuinely love and appreciate about your body and focus energy there. Put more energy into love and appreciation for your body and the things your body does well for you, or maybe even not as well as you like but still works. Give more energy to love and appreciation than to judging or correction and see what unfolds for you.

A yoga pose to practice: Upward dog, cobra, baby cobra. Start with baby cobra. To do this lay flat on your belly with forehead, legs, hip points, and tops of feet against the floor. Engage your core. Press your palms against the ground near your shoulders, keep your elbows in line near your body, and using your upper back muscles and core strength, gently lift the top of your heart space up off the floor. As you would like to lift higher, use your core muscles, push up from your palms and eventually lift your belly and knee caps up off of the ground. Keep space between your ears and shoulders, and let your shoulder blades gently move inward toward the center of your back. Notice how this makes your low back feel and keep working with baby cobra if your low back needs more softening, opening, and strengthening. Keep your legs active and engaged in all variations, you may curl your toes under in upward facing dog if this feels good for you. Keep a slight dip in the chin to avoid overarching your neck. Practice your mantra- I love my body, my body deserves all my love- as you practice your variation of baby cobra, cobra, or upward dog.
Your body is being blessed and so are the deepest intentions of your goals.

Option 2: Courage to trust your own rhythms and communicate your message or essence in the way you live your life and interact with others.

You are always whole even as you are always growing and evolving. If 2025 was very challenging for you, we can acknowledge that here and now. The year of the Snake, 2025, may have had a lot challenge and struggle. Feel compassion for yourself like you would for your most beloved or best friend. It is not necessary to carry any struggle forward. Close it out and let it go or reframe it. The snake transmutes, which means digesting your pain or anything into something else. This is not to say all your problems will suddenly go away. But notice that when we get burnout and overwhelmed, everything can seem like a struggle that much more and we may lash out in exhaustion, overwhelm, frustration. From this feeling change and improvement can seem impossible. It can be challenging to see a higher or even different perspective.

Allow yourself respite and rest from anything that has been causing you discomfort or unhappiness. If you need to breakdown or meltdown, let yourself. Allow the release of emotion, crying and surrender. As you do this you are freeing up energy and presence so that your life can take a turn for the better. Remember that you can ask for divine assistance in any matter of your life and healing. Practice conscious breathing and breathwork to connect with higher consciousness and consciously move your energy. A new rhythm is blessing your life if you will allow yourself to move through it and the divine wants to wrap you in protection and safety if you will ask and allow this to be so. Pray or ask for divine guidance in a way that feels resonate and supportive to you. Let yourself and the inner turmoil settle, or swirls about if you need to. As we process heavy experience and emotion, ebbs and flows of emotion can happen. This is normal. Even checking out again for a time is normal as we learn to integrate emotions and be fully present with our self and life. Here is mantra and a yoga pose to help you on your way.

Mantra: “Chattra chakkra varti, chattra chakkra bhugatay, suyambhav subhang sarab daa saraab jugatay, dukaalan pranasee, diaalang saroopay, sadaa ang sangay abhangang bibhutaay. Translation: You expand to the four cardinal points. You are the master of the four cardinal points. You create light. You are linked to the whole universe. Destroyer of existential pain, compassion incarnate, you’re always in me, eternal giver of invincible powers.” -(From The Mantra Oracle.)
Chanting this mantra helps alleviate depression, fear and anxiety and helps give courage to keep moving forward from the heart with trust in the divine. You can chant in Sankrit or your native language or make your own mantra you can connect with that has meaning for you. You can also listen to a recorded version of the mantra as you learn to chant it.

Yoga pose: seated spinal twist. Sit with a tall spine. You may sit up on a cushion or in a chair. Inhale deep and raise your arms overhead reaching your fingertips toward the sky, relax your shoulders. As you exhale, keep length in your spine and turn your head to look toward your left, bringing your left arm down behind your left side or down toward your left side. Be sure to keep length in your spine, shoulders relaxed, and twist from your heart space or core rather than your neck. Only deepen the twist when it feels good and you feel ease as you deepen while still being able to keep length in your spine and breathe fully and easefully. Do this on your left and right side. Notice the quality of your breathing and adjust your posture to bring more ease to your breathing. Notice how this might translate to your everyday life and way of interacting and being. Can you allow ease and softness as you engage, deepen, and stretch? Or do you only feel accomplished if you yank, contort, and struggle?

Option 3: Let your heart be more powerful than your mind to welcome in the greatest blessing and open up beautiful new pathways.

Where has your mind, ego, or improper use of power been hindering you rather than helping you? Has another been abusing their power towards you?

It is safe to experience the discomfort of growth. Life has or is bringing about a big change for you. This change has the potential to be a big burst of freshness and aliveness for you, and it can also be scary or unnerving as so much change sweeps about you and your life.

What is the most beautiful reality you can imagine? Can you let yourself play with and empower this most beautiful reality you envision before you squash it with doubt or fear?

The change is happening. Your dreams and desires are yours with great purpose and divine backing and support. Remember to allow room for the divine to bless and inspire you by keeping an open mind and heart. Remember compassion and right use of your power. You have the power to manipulate and hide and you have the power for honesty and openness. What are other ways can you think of using your power, for help or detriment? Compassion helps keep power in healthy expression and use.

What dreams and desires have been gracing you? Express and act rather than only daydreaming. If you feel inspired, listen! Act! Everyone has a right to listen to their own inspiration and follow their own light. Remember not to force others to follow as you follow your inspiration and divine guidance. Practice being rooted in your inner foundations as change sweeps through your life. What makes you feel rooted and supported? The following mantra helps balance your root chakra and shore up your inner foundations so you have a solid foundation within from which to move. “Regaining the stability of the ancient mountains, you no longer resonate with a fear of lacking money, health, love, or security.” -(From The Mantra Oracle.) From this place we can be more open to participating in life and working amicably with others.

Mantra: “Ek ong kar sat nam karta purk, nirbhao nirvair, akal murat, ajoonee, seybang guru prasad jap, aad such jugad such, haybee such, nanak hosee bee such.
Translation: The Creator and its creation are one, It’s essence is truth, Creator of all that is, Without fear, Without aversion, Immortal, Unborn, Illuminated by Itself, it is through the grace of the guru that we can be aware of that, meditate by repeating, true at the beginning. True through time. True here and now. Nanak said it: ‘Truth, always, will be.'” -(From The Mantra Oracle.)

Yoga pose: Downward dog. Start on your hands and knees, wrists aligned under shoulders, knees aligned under your hips. Spread your fingers wide, angle your pinkies outward. Put more weight where your knuckles meet your palm than on your wrists. Engage your core and lift your hips toward the sky. As you do this pose, keep a generous bend in your knees if necessary to keep length in your upper spine. Press your heart space toward your upper legs and bring your biceps in line with your ears. How do you feel in this pose? What is the relationship between your thoughts, your body, and your energy? Allow your time in this pose to be a connection and dialogue with yourself. If you enjoy the mantra, play it or sing it as you explore in downward facing dog. If you do not enjoy downward facing dog, don’t do it! This pose is challenging and often done incorrectly. It is commonly called a resting pose in yoga classes, but I do not agree, at least not for beginners and many who practice yoga, especially those who sit a lot. Feel free to use child’s pose as a resting pose and always empower yourself to skip downward facing dog or any pose that doesn’t feel good to you even if you have a live instructor right in front of you. A good instructor will always encourage and respect you listen to your own body.

Cards used: Crystal Mandala Oracle by Alana Fairchild, Rumi Oracle by Alana Fairchild, Medicine Cards by Jamie Sams, The Mantra Oracle by Lili Barbery-Coulon, and the yoga pose deck I bought at CVS I don’t think an author is listed.
