Affirmation: I take steps everyday to move in my desired direction. I move at the perfect pace for me. I am open to change and I flow freely and lovingly with Life.

The equinox happens twice a year when we have equal parts day and night. Today it marks the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and first day of Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also the astrological New Year’s day. The astrological year begins when the Sun enters Aries on the equinox, also marking the start of Aries season, and continues through the cycle of the 12 zodiac signs, each about a month long. There is a lot of energy of change happening right now- a whole new season in nature, a new season in astrology and a whole new year around the zodiac cycle.
Along with the theme of change in the air is also the theme of balance. With so much change occurring and ready to occur, what do you need in order to feel a sense of balance and wellbeing? It also feels important to point out that while the majority of the world experiences the equinox, there are parts of the world that have an entire season of darkness and an entire season of light. So, wherever you are at on your journey, pay attention to your inner landscape and what is calling your attention. If you could compare your inner world and/or personal life to the cycles of nature, how would you identify? How can you be inspired by or harmonize with your natural environment, or the cycles of nature in general, especially as it pertains to your own personal rhythm and patterns?
Our message from the cards is to take steps towards positive change. After being aware of where you are at and taking inventory of what you need to be in harmony, what steps can you take to move in your desired direction? Meet yourself where you are and don’t stress about needing to be anywhere else. Where you are and what you are experiencing right now is perfect for what your soul needs to grow. How are you choosing to respond to your present circumstances? Remember with anything that we go through, there are cycles and phases and sometimes we come back around to the same place to see how we’ve grown.
Spend some time alone with yourself to see how you’ve grown and what next steps you need to take. Do remember that resting, meditating, having time to grieve or just be, or any type of nonaction or waiting can be a next step too. Honor what comes to your awareness. If something seems too big or overwhelming, how can you break it down into smaller steps that feel better? Movement towards change rather than the end result is whats important right now. If you care for a family, consider everyone doing a personal inventory and then doing one for the family as a whole. It can be helpful to have a neutral party to help with communication and mediation in family matters so that everyone is heard and honored. In any instance it is important to remember that you have the power to change your life and you are the one who is going to do it.
“When you have feelings of gloom and inadequacy, you need to recognize this as a temporary situation. Feelings of sadness and negative thoughts can immobilize you and only you can change this. Perhaps it is a wake up call to get into action and make changes. Take small steps and keep moving everyday to bring positive change and self-empowerment. Exercise, study, socialize with like-minded people, listen to music, and talk about your feelings with trusted friends and family. Know that the magic of the universe and the angels are there to support and guide you. Gather your courage and rise to meet your challenges.”
